Cloud dental PMS
SiftDental is a complete cloud-based dental practice management system — scheduling, clinical charting, billing, insurance claims, recall, and reporting — in one browser. No server room. No IT consultant on speed dial. Fifteen minutes to onboard.
Multi-provider calendar, waitlist, online booking, and automated reminders — all in the browser. Drag-and-drop reschedules sync instantly across devices.
Odontogram, perio charting with voice support, progress notes, treatment planning, and CDT code logging. Everything flows back into billing automatically.
Eligibility checks, electronic claim submission, and payment posting. When a claim is denied, our AI pulls similar past denials and drafts an appeal.
Patients due for hygiene or treatment are surfaced automatically, and outreach runs on the cadence you set — SMS, email, or voice.
Production by provider, collection ratios, case acceptance, open balances, recall effectiveness. Click a number to see the patients behind it.
Every practice on SiftDental gets its own database and runtime. No shared multi-tenant tables. HIPAA-compliant by design, not by afterthought.
A cloud dental PMS is a practice management system that runs entirely in the cloud rather than on a Windows workstation in your office. The acronym PMS — practice management software — covers the full spectrum of what keeps a dental office running: the schedule, the patient chart, the billing ledger, the claim queue, the recall list, the reports the owner looks at on Sunday night.
When a PMS is cloud-based, all of that lives on managed infrastructure that you access through a browser. There is no server in the closet. There is no separate version of the software on the front desk computer, the doctor's laptop, and the hygiene room. Every workstation sees the same live data, every change is instantly reflected everywhere, and backups happen automatically.
Desktop dental PMS products — Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental — have been the industry default for decades, and they are genuinely good at what they do. But the cost of running them is hidden. A typical practice runs a Windows server, a daily backup to a network drive, anti-virus, a VPN for remote access, and an IT consultant on a monthly retainer. When the server has a bad night, the whole practice has a bad morning.
A cloud dental PMS collapses most of that cost and complexity into the subscription. The vendor owns the server, the backups, the security patches, and the uptime. You own the data and the workflow — not the infrastructure headaches. Cloud PMS also makes it dramatically easier to open a second location, accommodate a remote admin, or survive a laptop failure without scheduling an IT visit.
The tradeoff used to be feature depth. Early cloud PMS products often shipped a pared-down version of a desktop workflow. That gap has closed. SiftDental supports the full set of workflows a multi-provider practice needs — perio charting, treatment planning, electronic claims, recall campaigns, production reporting — and adds capabilities that desktop systems cannot match, like voice-driven charting and AI denial analysis.
Migrating to a cloud dental PMS is the part most practices dread, and most of the dread is outdated. Modern import tools pull patients, appointments, procedures, insurance, and ledger data directly from your current system. For Open Dental, we connect to your API key and pull everything in one pass. For Dentrix and Eaglesoft, a CSV export from the existing software feeds a guided import with duplicate detection.
A single-location practice typically completes the cutover in an afternoon. You import the data, spend an hour walking the team through the new interface, and your next day looks the same as your last — just without the server humming in the back.
